Interpretive Field Trip Guides

This is an educational field resource for the outdoor education teacher or inquisitive hiker that would like to add an educational component to their day hike.  Each Field Trip Guide will have an interpretive theme connected to a trail alongside GPS coordinates for points of interest.  Themes will be based on a combination of natural and human history unique to that location.  Interpretive Field Trip Guides can also be connected to specific Alberta curriculum outcomes, have grade/age appropriate recommendations, and a checklist of important information for pre-trip planning.  If you do not work in the educational field this is still a great resource to add interest and intrigue on your next day hike.

The Path Less Taken Environmental Education Resources

The Path Less Taken Educational Resources bring stories from the local landscape easily and accessibly into your classroom.  Based on the Alberta Program of Studies, these project-based inquiry units integrate curriculum objectives with environmental learning and outdoor skill development.  Each resource is based around a question of inquiry that is authentic, helping students to connect and make meaning of the natural world around them.  Students can work independently or collaboratively while given opportunities to consider different points of view, ask questions, and to think critically.  With peaked interest and environmental understanding students can actively explore and enjoy their local landscape.

The Path Less Taken resources provides you as the teacher with day-to-day student content that will help you meet curriculum objectives.  These units of inquiry do not prescribe how to teach the content to your students, rather it gives you content to work with as you please.

Resources are available for purchase at our Shop. Please contact for Canadian prices.
