A Conservation Caper

Test your animal tracking abilities and investigative skills during this interactive “Whodunit” experience for educators or families. As you learn about the observation of animal tracks, you will apply this knowledge to solve a “Conservation Caper”. This is a fun day of learning while snowshoeing surrounded by the scenic splendour of Peter Lougheed Provincial Park.  This program is offered at Black Prince or Sawmills.

$110 + GST per person.  Includes: Professional Guide, Hiking Poles, Snowshoes

Curriculum Connection: For Educators, this outdoor experience connects directly to the study of Evidence & Investigation.

Microbes in the Mountains

When we think of the living things we share our mountains with we often picture charismatic creatures like the Grizzly or Bighorn Sheep. Typically, not much thought is given to the microscopic microbes of an ecosystem: the worms, germs, bacteria and viruses that we share the landscape with. As we have seen, these tiny microbes have the power to shift and change our natural and human-made world. Learn more about “Microbes in the Mountains” on this winter walk-and-talk.
